Annual: Beutenberg Campus Award: PhDs in Life Sciences and Physics. Self-nomination or nomination by director. Deadline: in March.

Annual: Deutscher Studienpreis der Körber-Stiftung: In German only. Thesis submitted in 2020 (“magna cum laude” or “summa cum laude”). Self-nomination. Deadline: 1. March.

Annual: Bernd Rendel Prize: Early career geoscientists with a university degree but as yet no doctorate. Self-nomination possible. Deadline: Mid of February.

Annual: Dieter Rampacher Prize for the youngest PhD of Max Planck Society: Nomination by director or scientific coordinator. Deadline: February.

Annual: Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators: Young researchers not older than 35 years. Self-nomination. Deadline: 15. January.

Annual: Communicator Award: Researchers with excellent outreach. Nomination by scientific coordinator. Deadline: Early January.

Annual: Dan David Prize: 3 prizes per year; nomination of individuals or institutions. No self-nomination allowed. Deadline: 14. September 2022.

Annual: Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS): Researchers not older than 35 years. Nomination by senior faculty of the institutes. Deadline: Autumn.

Annual: Otto Hahn Medal: Young scientists not older than 30 years. Nomination by director, senior staff, or scientific coordinator. Deadline: Autumn.

Biennial: Walter Kalkhof Rose Memorial Prize: Award for a “Habilitation” in Natural Sciences. Nomination by university professors only. Deadline: 15. June 2022/2024/2026/…
